Silicon powder is a valuable industrial material used in semiconductor manufacturing, photovoltaic energy, high-performance ceramics, refractories, and chemical processing. Because it is fine, abrasive, and easily fluidized, traditional conveying methods often cause dust escape, material waste, pipeline wear, and safety risks. A well-designed pneumatic conveying system provides a fully enclosed, automated, and clean way to transport silicon powder from storage or receiving points to process lines, weighing bins, mixers, or packing stations. Our engineering team builds every solution around your exact powder characteristics, conveying distance, required capacity, and operational layout.

We supply both dilute phase and dense phase pneumatic conveying systems for silicon powder. Dilute phase conveying suspends particles in a high-velocity air stream and is suitable for short distances, simple layouts, and moderate throughput. Dense phase conveying uses low-velocity air pressure to move silicon powder as compact slugs or plugs, which reduces particle collisions, pipe wear, and energy use. For fine, abrasive, or fragile silicon powder grades, dense phase conveying is often the most reliable and cost-effective choice. Conveying can be arranged in positive pressure, vacuum, or combined pressure-vacuum configurations to meet the constraints of existing buildings and process equipment.

Each silicon powder conveying system we manufacture includes a controlled feeding device, a carefully sized conveying pipeline, a powerful and stable air source, and an efficient separator-filter at the discharge point. The feed device can be a pressure vessel, rotary airlock valve, screw conveyor, or vacuum suction nozzle, selected according to the material's flowability and the system's operating mode. The conveying pipe is made of stainless steel or ceramic-lined pipe to resist the scouring effect of moving abrasive particles. Pulse-jet bag filters, cartridge filters, or cyclone receivers separate the powder from the transport air, and the discharge valve maintains continuous flow into the next process unit.

Our silicon powder pneumatic conveying solutions are not built from a fixed catalog. We carry out material testing and site investigation before making a proposal. The test results provide bulk density, particle size distribution, moisture level, angle of repose, abrasiveness, and electrostatic tendency. These data enable our engineers to calculate the minimum conveying velocity, pressure drop, air consumption, pipe diameter, and receiver size required for stable operation. We then prepare a complete technical package that includes pipeline routing, support structure design, electrical control schematics, motor power selection, and instrumentation diagrams. This custom design process prevents excessive pipe wear, blocking, segregation, and capacity loss.

Safety is a core design requirement for silicon powder handling. Fine powder can form explosive dust clouds, and static electricity is a common ignition source in pneumatic conveying systems. Our systems are fully grounded, and all rotating parts are sealed to minimize dust leakage. The filter housings are built with easy access for cleaning, and the control system continuously monitors pressure, temperature, and filter condition. For applications with high explosion risk, we can add explosion relief panels, isolation valves, spark detection, and inert gas purging. Closed-loop conveying with nitrogen can be supplied to prevent oxidation or dust explosion when processing ultra-fine silicon powder.
