Diverter valves are essential components in pneumatic conveying and bulk material handling systems. They redirect the flow of powders, granules, pellets, and other dry bulk solids from a single source to multiple downstream destinations. By changing the internal flow path, materials can be delivered accurately without stopping the conveying line. This enables continuous operation, reduces labor costs, and helps plants maintain high productivity with excellent repeatability.

The working principle of a diverter valve is straightforward yet robust. A movable internal flap or rotating diverter element is positioned inside a housing. When actuated by pneumatic, hydraulic, or electric drive, the element aligns with a specific outlet port, allowing material to flow along the desired path. The sealing mechanism prevents leakage and material cross-contamination, which is particularly important in food, pharmaceutical, and chemical applications.

Common types include two-way and three-way diverter valves, as well as rotary diverters for multi-port routing. Two-way valves are ideal for line switching between two destinations, while three-way valves can distribute material to multiple lines or mix different products. Rotary diverter valves offer compact designs with up to eight or more outlets, making them popular in centralized conveying systems.

Materials of construction play a major role in performance and service life. Stainless steel diverter valves are widely used in food, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries because of their corrosion resistance and ease of cleaning. Carbon steel valves are a cost-effective choice for mineral processing, cement, and other abrasive bulk solids. Internal surfaces can be polished, hard-chrome plated, or lined with ceramic to extend wear life and reduce product buildup. The choice depends on material characteristics such as moisture, temperature, abrasiveness, and flowability.

These valves are used across a wide range of industries. In cement and mineral plants, they route raw meal, fly ash, and clinker between silos and processing equipment. In food processing, they handle flour, sugar, starch, and dairy powders under hygienic conditions. Chemical plants rely on them for plastic pellets, resins, and granular additives. Power generation facilities use diverter valves for biomass, sawdust, and ash handling. Wastewater treatment plants also use them for lime and polymer dosing systems.

Our diverter valves are engineered for long-lasting performance. Each unit features a heavy-duty housing, precision-machined sealing surfaces, and a self-cleaning internal design that minimizes product residue. The valve body is available in both cast and fabricated versions. For pneumatic conveying systems, pressure drop is minimized to maintain high conveying velocity and prevent line blockages. Bearings and seals are protected from material contact, reducing maintenance frequency and extending the service interval between overhauls.

When selecting a diverter valve, several factors must be considered. These include conveying pressure, temperature, material characteristics, required capacity, and installation space. We offer customized solutions with different flange ratings, seal materials, and actuation methods. Options include manual, pneumatic, and electric actuators, as well as position indicators and limit switches for remote monitoring. Our engineering team can also design special valves for explosive environments or heavy-wear applications such as conveying sand, glass cullet, and metal scrap.

Quality is the foundation of our manufacturing process. We use CNC machining and robotic welding to ensure precise tolerances and reliable weld seams. Each valve undergoes rigorous testing, including air pressure tests, leakage checks, and cycle tests. We provide material certificates and inspection documents on request. With extensive experience in domestic and international markets, we supply standard products and custom engineered diverter valves that meet CE and ATEX requirements.
