Molecular sieve pneumatic conveying systems are engineered to transport granular and powdered molecular sieve adsorbents safely through enclosed pipelines using gas-induced pressure or vacuum. These systems replace manual handling and mechanical conveying, offering a dust-free, gentle, and automated solution for moving desiccant media from storage to process vessels, regenerators, or packaging lines.
At the core of every custom solution is a careful analysis of material characteristics, including bulk density, particle size distribution, moisture content, abrasiveness, and flowability. Because molecular sieves are porous and friable, the conveying velocity and pressure must be controlled to minimize attrition, dust generation, and loss of adsorption capacity. Our engineering team tailors each system to protect the integrity of the beads or pellets while maintaining high throughput and energy efficiency.
We provide both dilute-phase and dense-phase pneumatic conveying options. Dilute-phase systems use high-velocity air to suspend and move particles, making them suitable for short distances and moderate capacities. Dense-phase conveying operates at low velocity and high pressure, pushing a plug of material through the line, which greatly reduces degradation and wear. For fragile molecular sieve products, dense-phase or pressure conveying with gentle acceleration is often recommended.
The system components include a roots blower or compressor, rotary airlock valve, feed hopper, conveying pipeline, bends, diverter valves, cyclone separator or bag filter, and a PLC control panel. Each component is selected to match the required capacity, conveying distance, and plant layout. Pipelines are manufactured in carbon steel, stainless steel, or aluminum, with surface finish and bend radius optimized to minimize particle damage and material buildup.
Vacuum conveying systems are also available for applications requiring dust containment and lower product stress. In a vacuum system, material is drawn from one or multiple pick-up points into a vacuum receiver. This configuration is ideal for unloading bulk bags, feeding multiple machines, and reducing atmospheric emissions. The absence of pressurized blowing air reduces moisture pickup and leakage, making vacuum conveying particularly suitable for moisture-sensitive molecular sieves.
Our custom molecular sieve conveying systems are widely used in ethylene drying, natural gas dehydration, air separation, refinery units, biofuel production, and petrochemical processing. Molecular sieves are essential for removing water, carbon dioxide, and sulfur compounds to extremely low levels. A reliable conveying system ensures that fresh and regenerated sieves are loaded into adsorber vessels quickly and safely, minimizing downtime during change-out operations.
In addition to the conveying equipment, we provide integrated accessories such as de-dusting screens, magnetic separators, material load cells, level sensors, and automatic bag-breaking machines. These add-ons improve operating reliability and protect downstream equipment. We can also design a multi-batch batching system that weighs and blends different sieve grades before feeding the adsorber, ensuring precise dosage and repeatable process results.
Safety and environmental compliance are important design drivers. Enclosed conveying prevents dust explosions and employee exposure to respirable dust. The system can be equipped with explosion-relief panels, grounding wires, nitrogen purging, and interlock controls to maintain safe oxygen concentration and pressure. All rotating components are guarded, and the PLC monitors motor amperage, filter differential pressure, and material level to provide warning alarms and automatic shutdown.
