Baking soda, also known as sodium bicarbonate, is a versatile powdery material widely used in food processing, chemical manufacturing, flue gas treatment, water treatment, and many other industrial applications. Although it is relatively free-flowing when dry, baking soda can become cohesive, dusty, and moisture-sensitive during conveying, storage, and dosing. As a result, selecting a reliable pneumatic conveying solution is essential to maintain product quality, prevent blockages, and ensure accurate transfer from storage silos to process equipment. Our customized baking soda pneumatic conveying systems are engineered to handle these challenges with precision, safety, and long-term operational stability.

Sodium bicarbonate has a relatively small particle size and low bulk density, which makes it prone to dust generation and air retention. In a pneumatic conveying line, these properties can cause particle agglomeration, saltation, or blockage if the gas velocity and conveying pressure are not properly matched. Moisture is another critical factor. When baking soda absorbs humidity, it can form lumps, stick to pipe walls, and cause discharge problems in silos, hoppers, rotary valves, and filter receivers. Therefore, a successful conveying system must account for ambient humidity, particle size distribution, bulk density, flowability, and the required conveying distance. However, the final choice depends on site layout, capacity, and material characteristics.

Each custom baking soda pneumatic conveying system includes key components such as storage silos, discharge hoppers, rotary airlock feeders, screw conveyors, pick-up boxes, conveying pipelines, receiver filters, and process control panels. We also integrate dehumidified air supply, desiccant dryers, and moisture-proof storage solutions when the site environment is humid or when the product must remain ultra-dry. The pipeline design uses smooth bends with large radius or specially lined elbows to reduce material buildup and erosion.
