Urotropine, also called hexamethylenetetramine or HMTA, is a versatile crystalline material used in resin production, rubber accelerators, pharmaceuticals, and fuel industries. In modern processing plants, reliable material handling is essential. Our urotropine pneumatic conveying system provides a fully enclosed, automated, and dust-free solution for transferring powder or granular urotropine from storage silos, bag dump stations, or reactors to process equipment. The system is designed to preserve material quality, reduce manual handling, and improve production efficiency. Every solution is custom engineered for your site layout, conveying distance, throughput, and safety requirements.

Urotropine has unique physical and chemical properties. Its particles are crystalline and can become dusty during transport. The material is combustible, and suspended dust can form explosive atmospheres under certain conditions. It is also hygroscopic and may agglomerate when exposed to high humidity. Therefore, a successful pneumatic conveying solution must control airflow, avoid high-velocity impacts, prevent dust leakage, and maintain a stable moisture environment. Our engineers analyze particle size distribution, bulk density, angle of repose, moisture content, and flowability before designing the system. This ensures smooth conveying without segregation, degradation, or blockage.

We offer both dilute phase and dense phase pneumatic conveying solutions depending on material characteristics and plant requirements. Dilute phase conveying uses high-velocity air to suspend and transport urotropine through pipelines. It is suitable for short distances, moderate capacity, and lower capital investment. Dense phase conveying uses low-velocity, high-pressure air to push material in slugs or plugs. This gentle approach minimizes particle attrition, reduces pipeline wear, and lowers nitrogen consumption when inert gas is required. For fragile, cohesive, or explosive urotropine grades, dense phase with nitrogen is often the preferred choice.

For transfer from a single source to multiple destinations, our positive pressure system uses a roots blower or compressor to generate pressure at the feed point. Material enters the pipeline through a pressure tank or rotary airlock and is delivered to the target silo or hopper. The reverse configuration, vacuum conveying, is ideal for unloading bulk bags, emptying reactors, and collecting dust from multiple pickup points. A vacuum pump creates negative pressure, and material is drawn to a central receiver. Both systems can be equipped with automated diverters, butterfly valves, slide gates, and level sensors for complete routing and process control.

The core equipment of a urotropine conveying system includes rotary airlock valves, screw conveyors, pressure vessels, blow tanks, cyclone separators, bag filters, pulse-jet dust collectors, roots blowers, vacuum pumps, control panels, and radius-bend pipework. All contact parts are stainless steel to prevent contamination. The piping layout uses long-radius elbows and smooth interior surfaces to reduce material degradation and pressure drop. The filter receiver separates conveyed material from conveying air and returns clean gas to the process or atmosphere. The entire system provides easy access for inspection, cleaning, and maintenance.

Safety is the highest priority in urotropine pneumatic conveying. Because urotropine dust can explode, our systems include explosion venting, flame attenuation, static grounding, and conductive equipment. The conveying circuit can operate under inert nitrogen, especially for dense phase systems. Oxygen sensors monitor gas and automatically control nitrogen purging. The dust collector uses explosion relief and anti-static filter media. All electrical components comply with hazardous area classifications such as ATEX or Class II Div. 1/2. The enclosed design prevents dust emission and keeps the plant environment clean and safe.
